Moving Through The Pandemic: Ideas For Your Wellness Practice

Last Wednesday, as Mudita Mindfulness Community, we had an open and vulnerable discussion on how much we we are struggling these days and how we are coping. We wrote down all our coping practices and ideas in the chat window, which was so rich, so I wanted to share it with you so that you may keep this list for inspiration. 😊

If things get difficult, may you remember your own communities (or join ours!), the support we give to and receive from each other, our loving presence, our MANY ideas of practicing mindfulness and wellness, and the richness of our inner and outer resources.

Ideas for practice during a difficult time

  • Breathing
  • Take care of the flowers
  • Noticing when you go to the future and past, coming back to present
  • In the morning before getting up from bed, do 3 long breath with a smile ☺️
  • Sounds of the gong in Insight Timer (don’t know why!)
  • Grounding to the Earth
  • Journaling
  • Sending loving kindness and compassion to everyone who crosses my mind
  • When I feel so much stressed I take a rest at least 15 min
  • RAIN
  • Gratitude and compassion towards myself
  • Listening to birds singing
  • Smelling nature
  • Sleep
  • Resourcing
  • Allowing myself to be upset and practicing self-compassion
  • Yoga (if I have energy)
  • Walking outside
  • Breathing techniques
  • Telling myself I’m forgiving myself
  • Walking
  • Reading
  • Disconnecting from screens
  • Listening to Esther Perel's podcast
  • A little care for oneself (chocolate, hugs, going outside, taking a break, eating an apple during stressful meeting - on mute)
  • Stop watching Netflix whenever I feel bored..
  • Aroma therapy
  • Gratitude (so many thing we forget to notice!)
  • Hugging my cat
  • Looking at pictures of cats
  • Exercise during the day
  • Podcasts about life or mindfulness
  • Dancing alone on high volume
  • Using my Animal therapy board on Pinterest
  • Listen to classical music or relaxing music
  • Positive social media channels
  • Smelling a lavender I’ve bought 2 weeks ago
  • Smiling!!!
